Healthy 16-month-old baby dies from brain-eating amoeba after visiting water park
A toddler from Arkansas died of an infection caused by a brain-eating amoeba lurking in a water park. The young boy was 16 months old when he visited a water playground with fountains and jets in Pulaski County, Arkansas. He had a fever for days, was vomiting, would not eat, would barely move, and his behavior suggested he was in a confused, altered state of mind. Doctors rushed him to the pediatric intensive care unit.
